Large blue almond shaped eyes enhanced with dark eyeliner and delicately painted lashes . Original blonde antique mohair wig over cork pate. Pierced ears with tiny amythst colored earrings. Fully gussetted kid body with some age related darkening. Wearing a beautiful 2pc antique walking suit of deep violet and navy blue. Skirt hem has a knife pleated and double ruffled hem with extended train. Gold monogrammed antique pin at jacket bodice. Antique straw hat lined on bodice front with navy velvet. 14" FG POUPEE IN ORIGINAL PROVINCIAL COSTUME: What a rare little find .... a 14" Francois Gaultier in her original folklore costume from Brittany !! Circa 1880. Seldom found in such a preserved condition ! Her costume is from Pon L'Abbe-Finistere- Brittany in France. You can see these types of dolls in "French Dolls in Folklore Costume 1835-1917 by Florence Theriault pages 22 to 69. Pressed bisque head is a swivel head on a bisque shoulder plate .... marked with a "1" on the head and "FG" on the shoulderplate. The bisque is in beautiful condition with a minor ear chip and some very tiny pepper spots on her forehead (which are covered up by her wig) and a small one near her chin that resembles a beauty mark. Beautiful coloring !!! Mesmerizing pale blue eyes with rare outer dark circles on the irises .... heavy accented with dark eyeliner and long painted lashes. Lovely heart shaped mouth accented on both lips. Original light brown mohair wig over cork pate. Sturdy original kid body darkened with age, with separately stitched wire reinforced fingers.
